Apple iPhone

Apple iPhone

Apple is hiring engineers to work in next generation mobile processors. The current iPhone runs on ARMv6, which is considered to be a little setback to iPhone since its competitors have moved to ARMv7. Apple gave disguised reference when it introduced new softwares for iPhone, that failed to work concurrently with other third party applications.

If Apple switches to ARMv7 for its iPhone, it will give clock speed to 600Mhz from the 400Mhz (from ARMv6). This will help iPhone run multiple applications run in parallel, which is one great feature that all smartphones posses.

Apart from iPhone, Apple may use the new mobile processor for its existing products or may bring in new products (netbook etc.,). I will be one of the Apple enthusiastic, to try the Apple gadget in the product.

Toshiba have announced that their top of the range Dynabook is to get a MASSIVE 512GB solid state drive. The Dynabook model number is the SS RX2/WAJ and comes in 2 versions.toshiba_dynabook_ss_rx2-waj1

It employs a 2-bit-per-cell multi-level NAND flash memory to realize, the world’s largest capacity SSD, with four times the density of SSD integrated into currently available products. The data access speeds has been increased approximately by 230% for read and by 450% for write. SSDs are free of mechanical structures such as a rotating disc, and ideal for integration into mobile notebook PCs, making them more resistant to vibration and shock.

This netbook measures 19.5mm x 25.5mm in size. Has a long battery life of up to 12 hours depending on usage and weighs 1095g. A transreflective LCD screen allows the laptop to be used in direct sunlight without the need of a backlight. To achieve this the screen uses the sun to brighten up the screen.

A mixture of using an SSD and a low powered CPU help the Toshiba laptop achieve it’s long battery life.
